In recent years Nihangs have once again taken the lime light, whether or not they ever left is a topic on its own. All the same though it holds true that when anyone comes to learn of 'em there is an instant attraction to the romantic ideals of what it means to be a Nihang. The entire no-mad warrior. The rebel with a cause so above yours that you'll never catch up. Lets face it everything about Nihangs at first glance is just amazing.
But, for as much love as we give our unforsaken warrior brethren, we are quick to push the same people away, and try to create as much distance with their practices deeming them barbaric, satanic, bhamanistic and essentially leaving them to be a Panth within a Panth.
Which seems to be the exact summary of this upcoming feature documentary on Nihangs which reads,
"The Akali Nihang claim direct lineage from the founding Gurus of Sikhism. Their itinerant lifestyle, rites and rituals have been sanctioned from the time of the sixth Sikh Guru - Hargobind Singh.
Yet as Sikhism has grown and spread around the globe, the Nihang have been outcast by their own people. Once seen as heroes and demi gods, they are now villified as thieves and drug addicts. This is their story and the story of how a major world religion lost its way."

Yo, I want the full-version. I don’t like these oh wait for it come. It never shows up. Sure it probably could use some funding but I’m broke and as much as I like to say I support it I really don’t put much action into it.
Face it most people including me enjoy the thought of being a warrior, half of us don’t even have the discipline to drink our 8, 8 once servings of water, stick to a healthy diet, work out on a daily basis, do out homework before the last minute. We choose the easy life, we have all fallen into the cycle of what we call life.
Unlike most I’ll probably be content with that. Other wont and shall forever be doomed to repeated the cycle.
Akaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal
You plan on nihunging it up those 8 glasses of water might be replaced with something else.
“not that there’s anything wrong with that”.. or is there.
little ones wright. Its easier said than done, its also easier to hate on the nihang singho’s maryada but ask your self what do you do thats pure sikhi and if they are doing something wrong (shaeedi degh) that the guru forbade (so they say againts consumption of shaeedi degh to be tyar bar tyar) is it worse than missing nitnem or having a big dumalah on your head, but wearing a t-shirt and jeans. i aint what you would call gursikh im just saying.
p.s i love they way the akali nihang who’s talking beside the sarovor speaks punjabi sounds beautiful.
