Petition For Apology

Was sent this link courtesy of Umpa and also found it on Garth Turners blog as being the official, "We want Stephen Harper to apologize to Navdeep Bains" petition.

Last time Navdeep asked for an apology the PM basically danced around the issue saying all he did was quote an article from a newspaper, and if Nav's got any beef he should take it up with Kim Bolan and the Vancouver Sun, in other words, "don't shoot the messenger."

Even though I don't see or believe that the petition will get the PM to change his mind anytime soon, but the fact that you're reading this means you have nothing better to do anyways so just sign the damn thing!

how come no one asked for an apology from the vancouver sun? i say bains guilty as charged and protected by a bunch of two-faced lying liberals protecting their own as usual.let the investigation go on without liberal interferance and dirty politics and the truth will come out. egg on their face again as usual. at least harper has the guts to stand up to those liberal jerks!

Because its Kim Bolan who wrote it, asking her for an apology is as useful as going to the National Enquirer and asking them not to make shit up.

It’s not that she hates sikhs (she very well might), but that she’s made a rather immoral career of of putting a negative spin on the sikh community. Keep in mind that people don’t state their hatred in such a straightforward way nowadays that they used to in the past. in the eighties the Sun actually published an article about a cricket match between india and pakistan with the title ‘wacky packies’. same people are still working there. same editor.

I remember reading an article about some east indians in politics who, along with one white guy, took advantage of government finances in bc. That article mentioned east indian more than once, the word sikh about 3 times, and the word white zero times. why mention their race and (alleged) religion so often??
